A Nissan Leaf at Pikes Peak

Nissan will present a Leaf at the 89th edition of the famous Pikes Peak Hill Climb to demonstrate the capabilities of its compact electric on June 26th.
It will not be the Leaf Nismo RC; the race version presented at the New York Auto Show, which made its first official tests May 16th on a race track; but a standard version stripped of its seats, carpets and fitted with race seats, a rollbar and safety harnesses in order to compete in the standard electric cars category.

“This is another innovative way to showcase the fun-to-drive nature of the Nissan LEAF and highlight that 100 percent electric vehicles perform very well in demanding situations like the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb,” Ron Stukenberg, senior manager, Marketing Communications, Motorsports.
