A line of electric straddling buses stepping between two lanes on the road is going to be tested in Beijing. According to its developers this mean of transportation that leaves room beneath for the cars could reduce the traffic jams by 30%. Moving on tracks, its construction should be cheaper than a subway line. “We will start with the tracks by the end of 2010 for a test line of 6 km by 2011’s second semester, passengers are welcome” says Song Youzhou, CEO of Shenzhen Hashi Future Parking Equipment. 180km of tracks could be built in total.
