The Chinese manufacturer BYD is going to electrify Europe in 2012

Following its presence at the Geneva Motor Show and after the announcement of its final arrival on the U.S. market earlier this year, BYD now turns to the European market with its hybrid and electric low-cost vehicles that could cause trouble to some European manufacturers ...

On its existing range of four electrified vehicles (including one in development) BYD did not communicate precisely on the models that will be brought to Europe, however both technologies will be available Dual Mode (Plug-In hybrid) and Electric:

-The electric MPV, BYD e6 and its 300km announced range thanks to its 60kWh battery.

-A product on which little information is available at the moment, the S6DM a plug-in hybrid SUV.

-The other two models are the F3DM and F6DM

European launch is planned for the fourth quarter of 2012.

In addition Denmark has announced that two electric buses K9 would be tested from the middle of next year in Copenhagen and its surroundings. The Denmark is determined the lead the way in electric mobility after having installed the first European BetterPlace battery switch center just few days ago.
