(VIDEO) Geneva 2011: Rolls Royce 102EX in details

01/03/2011
Here are the first two videos of the electric Rolls Royce the 102EX, one shows its exterior and interior look and the other explains how it works.

In figures, the Phantom’s V12 is replaced by two electric motors placed on the rear axle, they produce 389hp and 800Nm of torque.

The 102EX weighs 200kg more than a standard Phantom, with 2720kg but achieves the 0 to 100kph in less than 8 seconds with a speed limited to 160 kph.

It has the largest battery ever installed in a car with 71kWh, almost 4.5 times the capacity of a Peugeot Ion or Citroen C-Zero, but it allows a 200km range.

However, the (complete) recharge on a single phase plug takes 20h, and you have to switch to three phase to go down to 8h.
