EU pollution standards for utility vehicles, 147 g/km in 2020

While the initial proposition of the European Commission recommended a reduction to 135 g/km in 2020 and 120€ fines if that rate was exceeded. Today a the car manufacturers and the European Parliament found a compromise.

Between 2014 and 2017, the average of the emissions of commercial vehicles will have to go from 200 to 175 grams by kilometers. In 2020 this average will be reduced to 147g / km.
In case of exceeding by more than 3 grams, 95€ fines by gram are planned.

This compromise still has to be endorsed by the European Parliament during a vote in plenary session.
