UK’s government grant for electric vehicles

UK’s Ministry of Transport has just revealed the conditions and a list of nine vehicles eligible to the governmental grant.

United Kingdom decided that 2011 is the year of entrance of electric vehicles in the country; thanks to this generous £5000 grant that is on from January 1st, 2011.

The grant represents 25 % on the total price of the car within the limits of 5,000£.

Minister of Transport Philip Hammond and Business Minister Mark Prisk revealed that five other regions will install EV charging stations, a £20m investment funded by the government: Midlands; Manchester and its suburb; the East of England; Scotland and Northern Ireland.

These new zones come as a supplement to 11000 stations to be installed before 2013 in the regions of London, Milton Keynes and the Northeast of England.

This current announcement confirms the intentions of the United Kingdom: its green revolution is on the way.
