After a presentation 2 years ago (in November 2016) of the first electric scooter concept by Piaggio, the opening of orders of the first electric Vespa will begin at the 2018 EICMA Show.
On the design side, it is identical to the concept of 2016 and compared to the iconic combustion Vespa - apart from the absence of engine - its design does not change, it simply sports blue stripes and piping to differentiate it.
From the 1st November, the electric Vespa (Elettrica) will arrive in showrooms in 12 European countries (the rest will be opened in 2019).
Pre-orders are also possible online with a 10% deposit on Vespa's site
The official price excluding government subsidies is 6390 € or 99 € per month over 72 months, Vespa also offers a Vespa Care guarantee for 36 months or 10,000km.
Its official specs sheet is summary with 4Kw of power (probably in peak) 100km of range and 4 hours of charge, impossible to get more details on the brand's site for the moment.
It is certainly not a bargain and many competitors in this market of electric scooter will have better technical arguments but the Vespa effect should once again work!
