(VIDEO) Production green light for VW’s electric combi (ID BUZZ)


At the occasion of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, VW announced that they would put into production the COMBI or BULLI or ID BUZZ according to the name of the last concept!


Presented in Detroit at the beginning of the year it is only now that the brand decided to announce the production of their iconic microbus whose historical models T1 in 21 or 23 windows now reach sky-high prices with more than 100,000 € for restored models, that tells much about the people’s love for the Combi VW!


Specs sheet of the ID BUZZ

Four-wheel drive and record battery! The VW electric microbus has 369hp from two electric motors placed on each axle and supported by a colossal battery of 111kWh placed in the floor offering 300 miles of autonomy or 480 km. The 80% fast charging is done in 30 minutes on a 150kW charger. It can accommodate up to 8 people and has a trunk in the front.
A commercial version for the transport of goods ID BUZZ CARGO is also expected, both will benefit from a level 3 autonomous driving technology: ID Pilot.


Second model designed specifically for the full electric propulsion

Based on the same modular platform "Modular Electric Drive Kit", ID Buzz arrives in the line of the 4-door compact electric car VW ID expected in showrooms from 2020, the ID BUZZ will land two years after.
No price announced for now but a promise:
"These cars will offer everything - and even more - than you have seen from other electric carmakers," "And they will be much more affordable." Herbert Diess CEO of VW.
