"Coup", competition for Cityscoot in Paris


Cityscoot was launched last year, this self-service electric scooter scheme in Paris has gradually grown to offer 1000 scooters over the city. It will be joined by the end of the month by COUP, another service that has been in operation for a year in Berlin and will deploy 600 electric scooters in the French capital.


Electric Scooters

While Cityscoot is using Govecs scooters, Coup choose Gogoro, Taiwanese electric scooters that we have presented to you in 2015 however the service is proposed and ensured by BOSCH - both are 50cc equivalents.


Hourly rate VS rate per minute

Coup offers a flat rate of € 4 per half hour and then € 1 per additional 10 minutes where Cityscoot plays the flexibility with a rate of 0.28 € per minute.
Another difference on the packages offered, COUP chooses day or evening packages 25 € a day (7h-19h) and 15 € per night (19h-7h), packages automatically apply. While Cityscoot is focused on actual use with 100 or 500 minutes packs which respectively lower the cost per minute to 0.25 € and 0.20 €!

Rental and recharging

There, it is strictly identical, just download the application and subscribe to be able to rent the scooter, the empty batteries are replaced by full ones directly by the operating companies.
