Chevrolet Bolt, GM’s answer to the Leaf is a $30,000 and 200miles range crossover

13/01/2015

For the Detroit Auto Show, Chevrolet presents the 100% electric pendant of its Volt - whose new model, more consensual is also unveiled on the show - here's a new electric car following the Chevrolet Spark EV that shows GM’s interest for all electric vehicles!

Indeed, Chevrolet already offers a 100% electric car but it is a conversion of an existing model, to satisfy its ambitions and deal with the growing offer - especially the Nissan Leaf - Chevrolet presents the Bolt, a car designed for electric propulsion only.

Chevrolet Bolt the electric car for masses

The Chevrolet Bolt was designed as a mass electric vehicle, affordable with a big range, the goal is 200 miles (320km) for a starting price of $ 30,000.

The Nissan Leaf in sight

This car looks to compete directly with the Leaf - best selling electric car with 100,000 copies in three years - the Chevrolet Bolt takes on the experience of the Volt and Spark EV.

Looking a bit like the Kia Soul EV or the Mercedes B-Class but with more generous dimensions at first sight, the Chevrolet Bolt is a MPV / crossover, several driving modes are announced, affecting the response of the accelerator pedal.

For now no release date.
