Indeed, to reach its sales target for the European market, Kia has to go through diesel and offers a hybrid version of the 1.7l CRDi engine, no official figures but the performance of the car are up by 20% for emissions down by 20% according to the first tests!
This Kia Optima T-Hybrid is the brand’s first diesel hybrid demonstrator announcing the arrival of a mild hybrid technology at Kia, it is based on an innovative lead carbon battery that heats less and is more easily recyclable.
This hybrid drivetrain also allows the adoption of an electric compressor on the diesel engine meaning more torque and improved response time.
