(VIDEO) A Peugeot 2008 Hybrid Air in the streets of Paris

While Carlos Tavarez announced a few days ago that the launch of the Hybrid Air technology in production vehicles - announced for 2015 - was still suspended, PSA proves that the technology is viable in a video.

Early last week, during a meeting of PSA's executive committee, Carlos Tavarez stated that the group needed a partnership to develop the pneumatic hybrid technology presented in early 2013 in a citycar Citroen C3 and then a Peugeot 2008 on the Geneva motor show.
But for now the discussion with the group's newest partner, Dongfeng do not lead!

This technology is a hybridization without battery allowing to run silently thanks to compressed air (nitrogen): during braking phases the energy generated is recovered and stored in a tank. Then, during the start phase, this energy is restored.

The Hybrid-air technology is particularly interesting in town where fuel savings can reach 45%: less than 3l per 100km!

Eventhough, despite this delay announcement PSA has posted a video in which the Hybrid Air project manager Karim Mokaddem is driving a prototype of Peugeot 2008 Hybrid Air in the streets of Paris, the technology is developed, already proven and requires just a final push to reach our series production models!
