(VIDEO) The Peugeot 308 1.2 e-THP 130 achieves a record range of 1800km (1118 miles)!

A few days ago, the 2014 Car of the Year, the Peugeot 308 set a record for a gasoline engine in series model car with the groups’ latest three cylinder called PureTech!

Indeed, after the normally aspirated versions 68hp 1.0l and 82hp 1.2l, the EB… powertrain gets a turbo to offer 130hp while complying with the EURO 6 standard (see October 2013 article on the EB Turbo PureTech engine start of production).

This e-THP 130, allowed to the Peugeot 308 to achieve a record range of 1810km (1118miles) in 32hours of driving and a record consumption of 2.85l/100km certified by the UTAC – the test took place in Almeria, Spain.

The 1.2l e-THP130 PureTech also develops 230nm of torque at 1750 rpms, it will be offered in the 308, the estate version 308SW and the Citroen C4 whose officials NEDC specs have been revealed simultaneously, emissions of 110g/km for a feul consumption of 4.8l/100km (on the paper, that is an impressive -23% compared to the previous engine generation that offered only 120hp!)
