Nissan new fuel-saving technologies

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd announced today a range of advanced, fuel-saving technologies, culmination of Nissan’s Green Program 2010 (NGP 2010). It consists in a series of innovative technologies on its 3 and 4 cylinder gasoline engines as well as a new high-efficient hybrid system.

Nissan’s zero-emission vision is developed on two key pillars, Zero Emission and Pure Drive.

“Zero Emission” being the ultimate goal, the “Pure Drive” is the company’s commitment to increase efficiency and reduce emissions through technologies such as CVT transmission, idling Stop, HEV, Clean Diesel.

In Japan, the first “Pure Drive” vehicle will be the new March (Micra), launched this month and equipped with idling stop for a 26km/l (3,8l/100km) fuel consumption. It will then be followed with the clean diesel X-Trail and the Fuga Hybrid sedan.
