The S-Class 300 BlueTecHybrid – opts for the diesel, consumption at only 4.4l/100km - prices from €80.920

The previous generation of S-Class was already available in hybrid version, the S400 Hybrid (petrol), the new generation (W222) is offered with the 300 BlueTecHybrid engine already featured in the E-Class.

As always spearheaded of the Mercedes range, the new S-Class revealed in May can (among other features) drive itself on the highway - a world first for a production car - then , the S Class 300 BlueTecHybrid also houses for the first time a four-cylinder engine !

Most frugal S-Class ever built, its consumption is announced at 4.4l per 100km for emissions of just 115g/km, equivalent to an average diesel sedan.

This 300 BlueTecHybrid powertrain combines a 2.2l 204hp four-cylinder and a 27hp electric motor for a maximum torque of 500Nm and promises, despite the few horses a 0 to 100kph in just 7.6seconds.

Listed price from € 80,920 and € 86,453 for the long version .

With this positioning, the W222 S-Class hybrid is the entry level (just like the Audi A8 in its range), again a first for MB!

With such arguments, its career should be more interesting than the one of the 400Hybrid (W221) whose sales volumes remained low.
The final figures of the S500 Plug-in are also expected soon.
