On the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Honda revealed its new urban crossover, the Vezel that will be placed under the CR- V in the range. Precursor in this market with the HR- V, since, the other manufacturers took the segment.
Honda wants to strike back on this urban crossover market with fierce competition: Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur, Nissan Juke ... and soon Infiniti Q30.
This is a pre-production vehicle whose launch is imminent; in fact it will be sold from late December in Japan!
With 4.29m long, 1.77 wide and 1.60 high, the Honda Vezel is described halfway between SUV , minivan and coupé, it will be sold in Europe from 2015 - certainly under a different name , as Honda likes to change the names according to the market: the Jazz is a perfect example – called Fit in Japan and USA .
Different powertrains are announced including a 1.5l petrol hybrid, Sport Hybrid i- DCD (Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive) with direct injection.
This hybrid engine can already be found in the latest generation of the CR- Z , for example , in which it develops 137hp and 190nm , however no details on the Vezel specs yet ... To be continued!
