The new Mini to be revealed in world premiere simultaneously on the Los Angeles and Tokyo motor shows continues its quest for efficiency with Cooper powertrains that now opt for three cylinder architecture in gasoline or diesel.
The first image of the new 2014 Mini appeared yesterday on the web, no revolution its keeps the format and round shapes, but the update is complete interior and exterior.

This new Mini inaugurates the BMW L3 engine efficiency spearhead of the brand, a three-cylinder that retains the spirit of the brand with its very special sound (see the 1-series TwinPower Turbo
prototype) – a1.5l developing 136hp and 220Nm (+10nm with the overboost function) for a consumption of 4.5l per 100km and emissions from 105g/km !
Mini Cooper D from 92g/km
Here also Mini opts for an engine developed in-house , a 1.5l three-cylinder developing 116hp and 270nm for 3.5 l per 100km and emissions from 92g/km.
Also note the arrival of a Green mode allowing coasting with the automatic transmission by decoupling the engine and gearbox.
