After the final specs sheet a few months ago, Cadillac has just revealed the price of the "Luxury Volt Coupe", the Cadillac ELR will be available from January 2014 at a price of $ 75,995 excluding government incentives.
While many Americans websites compare its price to the Tesla Model S’ (ultimate reference in the United States) we recall that it is a range extended coupe – or series hybrid - which is closer to a BMW i8 which estimated price exceeds € 120,000 ...
By the way GM cuts the grass under BMW’s feet as the first manufacturer to market a hybrid coupe with extended-range a few months before the arrival of the BMW i8 !

About powertrain, the Cadillac ELR’s electric motor is powered by a 16.5kWh battery while the 1.4l combustion engine used as generator brings the total range over 480km – combined output is 207hp and 400nm of torque.
The European price has not been announced yet but it is expected close to € 70,000 before bonuses.
