Audi Sport Quattro, the plug-in hybrid supercar arrives in Frankfurt

Presented under the R10 or Scorpio code name, rumors about a hybrid supercar for Audi are getting louder as the 2013 IAA approaches. Indeed, since the brand announced they won’t produce the R8 e-tron, Audi, a brand that puts the technology at the forefront of their communication "vorspung vor technish" doesn’t have an electrified supercar to challenge the other manufacturers!


The Audi Sport Quattro specs' at a glance

Audi’s hybrid supercar Concept offers 700hp, 800Nm and four-wheel drive, a plug-in hybrid technology and could potentially be launched in 2016!

In detail the famous 4.0 V8 twin-turbo latest generation presented in the RS7 (with cylinder deactivation) developing 560ch is coupled to a 140hp electric motor!
The 14.1kWh battery pack allows a range of 50km in electric only or a fuel consumption of 2.5l/100km and emissions of 59g/km!

The total weight of the car is listed at 1850kg for a 0 to 100kph in 3.7seconds...

For the record the group already has a powerful hybrid technology, proven on the race track with the R18 e-tron and also tested in a more "civilian" car, the Porsche 918 Spyder
Audi Sport Quattro’s design seems to be largely inspired by the 2010 Quattro concept, its coupe/shooting brake profile, taillights are also quite similar, but it opts for a more demonstrative front-end with large air intakes at the image of the RS5.
Its price is estimated at € 250,000 with a small production of 250 to 500 units.
