Latvians of DriveEO are known for their hybrid SUV with range extender on rallies such as the Dakar or the Africa Eco Race that traveled a total of 18.000km in competition with classic combustion vehicles.

Engineer and founder of DriveEO, Andris Dambis develops race vehicles for almost 10 years, a journey that took a decisive turn in 2011 with a hybrid SUV with range extender, the Oscar eO a prototype developed in-house – showing that it is possible to compete in extreme endurance races such as rally-raid with a hybrid vehicle.

For 2013, DriveEO’s new challenge is the legendary Pikes Peak Hill Climb with an electric supercar, the PP01.

The eO PP01 in figures and details:

Built on a tubular spaceframe with a carbon body, the PP01 weighs only 950kg for a total power of 400kW (536hp) with four-wheel drive.

Janis Horeliks, Touring pilot will drive the eO PP01, to challenge the TMG EVP002, Tajima e-runner, or i-MiEV Evolution, which raced last year.

Tests on the mythical 156 turns will start on June 8th before the official race to be held on June 30.
