(VIDEO) Shanghai 2013: reveal of the Icona Vulcano, hybrid hypercar


You probably remember the company of design and engineering Icona created by Europeans and based in China that already offered to us a few concept-cars in the recent years, including an electric three-wheeler, the E3WM or a GT as statutory as aesthetic, the Fuselage which was also presented in Shanghai in 2011 before making its debut at the Invalides in Paris for the Concept Cars Expo also called the Festival Automobile International in 2012.

This new Icona, the Vulcano tackles segment of hybrid supercars, to go tease the McLaren P1, LaFerrari or Porsche 918Spyder the concept car is fitted with a hybrid V12 developing a total of 900hp with the help of two electric motors, for a maximum speed of 350kph and a 0 to 200kph announced in less than 10 seconds!

The design of the Vulcano is directed by Samuel Chuffart-as with previous concepts- while the engine and the weight distribution is entrusted to Claudio Lombardi - formerly working for Ferrari.
