Citroën DS3 Electrum - only 95kg more, easy conversion

While the compact electric car concept was revealed in Paris with a first set of information, we learn that the company that developed the powertrain is already known for some feats and records of efficiency, Sim Drive!

Indeed following its presentation at the Paris Auto Show, the DS3 Electrum has been presented at the EV Japan show earlier this year, giving us additional information about this electrified DS3.

The basic principle was to achieve a conversion without touching the interior space of the car, all the components are located under the hood, and the battery occupies the room left by the fuel tank.

To gain room and efficiency the two electric motors (65kW each) power the front wheels without a reduction gear and the weight of the DS3 Electrum is listed to 1285kg only, allowing to display a 154km range from a 17.5kWh battery (in JC08 cycle).

Torque and peak power of the engines are quite staggering 176hp and 1360nm but with a 0 to 100kph in 9.8secondes, they must be limited...
The launch of this DS3 Electrum is not on the schedule.
