Awaiting its official premiere, VW already provides its specs.
Future direct competitor of the Renault Zoé
, the e-Up host 4 people, less powerfull than Renault’s compact electric (sedan) its motor develops a continuous 40kW (55hp) against 88hp for the Zoé and 60kW (82hp) in peak.
In contrast, the torque is almost identical with 210 against 220nm.
Thanks to a lower weight - 1185kg – obtained from a smaller battery (3.3kWh less) of 18.7kWh, the performances are similar: 0 to 100kph in 14 seconds and a maximum speed of 135kph.
However range should be affected as it is announced at 150km in NEDC cycle where the Zoé announces 210km for a 150km in real-life conditions.
Remains to see whether its price positioning will be in accordance, we expect less than € 20,000 before incentives!
Compared to the combustion version, it opts for curved daytime LEDs, a redesigned front bumper, 15-inch wheels and a specific blue VW logo on the trunk.
