Exagon Furtive-eGT, the SLS Electric Drive killer! (Video & gallery)
We have already presented it at the Paris Auto Show, but the Exagon Furtive-eGT is again one of the stars of the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The performances are stratospheric and the French plays with the big boys, the supercars.
0 to 100kph is announced in 3.5 seconds, just behind the McLaren MP4-12C or 1 tenth better than the legendary Ferrari Enzo. The speed is limited to 250kph, enough to follow the fastest sedans on the German Autobahn!
But the Furtive-eGT is primarily a concentrate of technology.
First the two engines developed by Siemens produce 148kW each with an efficiency ratio close to 98%! Apart from the combined 402hp and 550nm of torque, the most impressive is the availability of power, a tenth of a second! Touch the accelerator pedal and the expected response won’t take long.
Another advantage of the electric motors, braking, indeed, motors contribute to the deceleration and moreover Exagon turned to one of the best brand for brakes in the world, the French Beringer. The braking force can reach 1.2g, almost above any competition!
As said, this Furtive-eGT is packed with technology, 124kg carbon monocoque structure, a full carbon bodywork, 53kWh SAFT batteries, a three speeds gearbox without torque interruption. The center of gravity is very low, lower than most of supercars in production, for a weight of 1640kg.
The suspension and tires have been developed in partnership with Michelin, in order to reach the maximum potential of the Furtive-eGT.
The complete lighting of the car, inside and outside is made of full LED, a 12-inch digital screen serves as dashboard. You can also choose from four driving modes, Standard, Eco, Sport and city.
The French offers 360km in urban cycle and 310km combined, a remarkable achievement for the a full-electric, and on paper better than the Tesla Roadster S which was the reference until then.
Note that the Furtive-eGT can receive an optional "range extender" - like a Fisker Karma to stay in the premium segment. The range extender, will bring range (with 25l of gasoline) to 807km in urban cycle or 735km in the combined cycle! Note that quick charging is possible going from 30% to 80% of battery in... 32 minutes!
The Furtive-eGT seems to be more efficient than the SLS Electric Drive for a price substantially similar.
Exagon offers to its customers a complete customization program that will meet your every need and highlight the expertise of French craftsmen. Finally, just like a Bugatti, maintenance services and computer updates will be provided directly at your home.
The Furtive-eGT is already available, it will cost you about € 400,000 (from € 370,000) to become one of the future owners. The first models will be delivered in late 2013.
