Geneva 2013, series BMW i3 to be revealed (+specs with range extender)
BMW will officially present the production version of its i3 electric car at the Geneva Motor Show next March for a launch before the end of the year, and confirmed its specs sheet!
This is a good news for the manufacturer that relies heavily on this vehicle to take the lead in green mobility.
The i3 is a compact electric five-seater with 170hp, a futuristic design and innovative tech. It has a torque of 250 Nm, which allows it to go from 0 to 100 kph in less than 8 seconds while the top speed is limited to 150kph to extend the range.
The optional range extender (e-REX) of the BMW i3 is a small two-cylinder petrol unit that allows the car to travel a total 300km, doubling the range announced.
However its price is not yet announced, as well as the now famous e-REX option.
