(VIDEO) New Toyota Auris Hybrid, from € 22.200, CO2 emissions at 87g/km
After the Yaris Hybrid which showed good sales, Toyota announces that it launches the new Auris hybrid at the same price as the previous generation, a price positioning described as "aggressive."
Indeed, at € 24,600 for the Dynamic trim and € 26,600 for the Style, models then eligible to a 10% bonus of the invoiced price in France, the hybrid versions are cheaper than the equivalent diesel versions (124 D4-D) of about € 1,500 after the rebate!
Besides the Lexus CT200h, the group’s other compact hybrid (premium), the Auris 136h has no direct competitor in the same segment, Honda is positioned with a city-car, the Jazz and a "compact 3-door" the CR-Z, still not really comparable… On the premium side the CT200h will soon have to battle with the Infiniti Etherea planned for 2014.
Coming as standard with 17-inch wheels in the Dynamic trim, a 15-inch option is available, lowering emissions to 87g/km.
Compared to the previous version, the batteries that now take place under the rear seats (as in the Yaris Hybrid) allow an extra 30% cargo volume at 360 liters.
And if that still isn’t enough for you a wagon version "Auris Touring Sports" is now also available, however its pricing has not been disclosed yet.
