EICMA: eCRP Energica 2013, the first Italian electric motorcycle on its way
Update of November 10th article with the first promo clip of the bike
Last year at the Milan bike show, eCRP created the surprise with the launch of the road legal version of their eCRP 1.4, race bound electric motorcycles developed to tackle Championships like the TTXGP or FIM e-Power.
The 2013 prototype of the Streetbike confirms a launch in 2014 at a price of € 18,000 and in a limited edition, a slight increase compared to the € 15,000 announced last year, but even at that price it is unbeatable because with 100kW (134hp) and 160Nm for 150 km of range, no one competes!
Indeed, electric motorcycles currently available are often 125cc equivalent, and the only potential competitor, the (already very powerful) Brammo Empusle offers 40kW for 63Nm with prices between $ 16,995 and $ 18,995 depending on the version... Otherwise, to find more powerful bikes, you must look at ultra-exclusive machines as the Lito or Lightning.
Compared to the bike presented last year, the specs and design of the eCRP does not change, we simply note a modified swingarm and damper location.
Here's a preview of the 2013 eCRP Energica, before the official reveal which will take place early next week.
