(VIDEO) KTM Freeride E, first tests of series-production models

Motorrad Magazine had the opportunity to test the first series units of the KTM Freeride E and the least we can say is that it is a KTM, agile and powerful.

Teased for 2 years and officially announced at the 2011 EICMA Show last November, KTM’s first electric motorcycle will arrive shortly in showrooms.

For the record its specs sheet announces 10hp in continuous, 30 peak and 42Nm of torque for 95kg (removable battery included). With a capacity of 2.1kWh, the lithium-ion battery allows 30 minutes of range for a 1.5h charge time.

The transmission via chain remains silent (the belt is often preferred for its silence) but belt is not very KTM ...

The price of the KTM Freeride E still has to be confirmed but was expected under € 10,000, in short, a serious competitor for Quantya, Zero Motorcyles, or the upcoming Brammo Engage....
