(VIDEO) Sym in the 3-wheeler race with an electric scooter (EX3)?


At the 2012 Intermot Show in Cologne, the Korean manufacturer Sym - the "Kia" on two-wheels with its three years or 100.000km warranty - revealed a concept of electric scooter with three wheels called Sym EX3.


As a reminder, today, only the Vectrix VX-3 and Piaggio MP3 Hybrid, are available.

Although, unlike the other two mentioned above, the Sym EX3 does not tilt, however it is safer and closer to a car with a full body that also turns it into a potential competitor of the Renault Twizy, like some of the Twizy-killers we identified before the release of Renault’s micro electric city car...

Let’s hope that Sym who already has electric scooters in its range, the E-Virid and Symmetry might be tempted to produce such a vehicle!

For this concept / prototype, the brand announces a 3kW electric motor in continuous and 5kW in peak for a maximum speed of 90kph, the 50V and 60Ah battery ensures 100km of range (at 30kph).
