(VIDEO) 2012 Paris Motor Show: no innovation crisis for the French brands
The 2012 Paris Motor Show is important for the French brands, whether because of strategic launches as Renault with Clio 4 and Zoe, or to forget about the ambient gloom with the magnificent Peugeot Onyx concepts.
Citroën is not left aside with the prototypes DS3 Electrum, the Number 9 plug-in hybrid gasoline in European first, or the impressive Tubik and C-Zero from the Electric Odyssey.
Despite the slight delay in launch the Renault Zoé keeps its promises with sleek and pleasant lines in the flesh, and zen interior, well finished in a light fabric with a Teflon layer to protect it for daily attacks, rear-seat space is sufficient, even for tall passengers (> 1.80m). Note especially a trunk with generous dimensions.
At Peugeot, the three Onyx concepts are stealing the show, the hybrid-diesel sports-car in the first line, then the three-wheeled hybrid bike and the time trial bicycle... Two other bikes (electric ones) also presented, eventhough they are only prototypes they seem way too production-ready…
Now more Monegasque than actually French, Venturi, real UFO in the Automotive landscape presented in style the production version of the Venturi America, an electric buggy derived from the Fetish, it offers 300hp and 400Nm of torque, speed tips of 200kph for a range of 300km, see its full specs sheet here.
Other concepts and prototypes from French brands (less main stream) were presented, they will be detailed in article to follow.
