(VIDEO) Panamera Sport Turismo Porsche goes plug-in hybrid (again)


Porsche is definitely looking to the future, after the Cayenne and Panamera hybrid, the electric Boxster concepts and of course the 918 Spyder, Porsche’s novelty for the 2012 Paris Auto Show is a plug-in hybrid car!


This concept car, very close to a commercial reality is a shooting brake version of the Panamera which adopts and introduces the e-hybrid technology, the latest innovation of Porsche Intelligent Performance’s department.

Do not be fooled, this Panamera Sport Turismo is slightly shorter and lower than the sedan, however, it is larger.

The e-hybrid technology is an evolution of the existing hybrid technology, the 333hp 3.0l V6 is coupled to a 95hp electric motor for a combined power 416hp with a consumption of 3.5l/100km and emissions of 82g / km.

The 9.4kWh battery allows a full electric range of 30km at a maximum speed of 130kph, the regenerative braking is adjustable from the steering wheel to extend battery life, a full charge of the battery takes 2.5 hours.
