France 2012 green car plan, official figures by emissions level

The French government wants to dynamize the automotive industry and bets on green cars using a proven technique, the bonus / malus. The deployment of charging infrastructure is also planned in several test-cities.

It's not a surprise but the plan voted by the government is larger than the experts had expected. Increased bonuses and penalties, the grant is now open for to public authorities and companies coincides with the introduction of a minimum percentage of 25% in purchase of hybrid or electric vehicles by the government, plus the development of specific infrastructure.

Bonuses

As in the previous version of the text, hybrids that emit less than 110g of CO2/km will receive preferential grant a bonus of 4000€ and limited to 10% of the purchase price.

The penalties

To offset expenses related to the increased bonus, the government will also increase penalties in the 2013 Finance Act. The first penalty will be distributed from 141 g of CO2/km.
