New Opel’s flagship in the A segment, in line with the Fiat 500, Citroen DS3 and Mini, this 4 seater city-car of 3.7m arrives in a fiercely competitive segment.
In addition to the inevitable argument of the segment, the interior and exterior customization possibilities, the Adam Opel receives technologies reserved for upper segments, such as park assist APA II (Advanced Park Assist), the blind spot indicator (SABS) Side Blind Spot Alert operating with ultrasound or even a heated steering wheel, reinforcing its Premium positioning.
About the engines, three “efficient” petrol engines will be offered at its launch, a 70hp 1.2l and a 1.4l with powers 87 and 100hp matted to five-speed gearboxes, the ecoFLEX pack with efficient technologies such as Start / Stop will be available as an option. Also note the announcement of a new-generation turbocharged direct injection engine combined with a 6-speed gearbox to be revealed later.
For the moment emissions and consumption figures of this efficient city-car have not been revealed.
The Adam Opel will have its world premiere in Paris before an arrival in showrooms scheduled in January 2013.
