For its first location in France, in the city of Lyon, the rental service "Car2Go" had to stop all activities at the request of the company "Car' Go".
In a statement, Car'Go said that Daimler and Lyon’s local authorities were warned well in advance that if the rental service was set up under the name of Car2Go, they would legitimately use legal means to stop them.
The service, which already counted 200 Smarts available to residents of the Greater Lyon since February 1st, decided to stop its activity because of the confusion between the names of both companies.
Instead of simply changing the name, Daimler announced that the service was stopped immediately and that the customers will be fully refunded.
