While the first models are expected in showroom on June 22, a lucky member of Tesla’s board, Steve Juvertson received the first production model this week, one of the "Founder's Edition."
A goof opportunity for a short tour of the factory and the assembly line in Fremont, California.
The aluminum sheets are formed before being assembled by robots with high efficiency and accuracy that will allow Tesla to produce 20,000 to 30,000 Model S in this factory from 2013.
Once the first models out of the factory, Tesla Motors will begin customer tests with the "Get Amped Model S Tour": 5000 tests in 10 American cities + 1 in Toronto, Canada in just 45 days!
To keep the pace, each test is planned to last from 7 to 8 minutes, tests are reserved to the happy owners of order forms.
In France and Europe the first cars are expected in early 2013, six months after the United States.
