Beijing 2012: Honda Concept S, Honda’s answer to the Toyota Auris and Lexus CT200h

Honda already has an hybrid city-car in the range with the Jazz and a bigger model the CR-Z a little too sporty, is too segmented that does not get the expected success.

So, naturally they developed a more mass-market vehicle to compete with the Toyota and Lexus’ compact hybrids and the Infiniti Etherea that will soon be released.

The Concept S presented today at the Beijing Auto Show, stands for Stylish, Smart, and Surprise. A global model that will be launched first in China, it adopts the new guidelines of Honda’s style, proudly represented by the NSX (also exhibited at the show) with thin headlights and round shapes.

No precise information on its IMA powertrain yet, but the one of the CR-Z seems an obvious choice, scheduled release next year.
