(VIDEO) Lexus ES300h : Lexus’ mid-size sedan now available in hybrid

At the 2012 New York Auto Show Lexus unveiled the newest version of its mid-size sedan (H1 segment), the 2013 Lexus ES that becomes available in hybrid version.

Although no specifications have been announced, this engine gives a glimpse to the one we could find in their compact SUV under development.

Here are the figures available: 1660kg (only 50kg more than the petrol version ES350) 4.89m long 1.82 wide and 1.45 high.


The powertrain is composed of a 2.5l Atkinson cycle gasoline engine that allows 40mpg or 5.8l/100km in combined use, it powers the front wheels.

The ES 300h has four driving modes Normal, Sport, Eco and EV it bears the design language codes, Lexus grille and with daytime LED lights.

No information on its availability in Europe for now ... But this model is one of only not to be imported on our continent, and it would, more than ever, be really consistent in Lexus’ European range ...

Mark Templin, vice president of the group also promised eight hybrid models by 2014:
“The ES 300h is the latest addition to our Lexus global Hybrid family. 
In fact...by early 2014...we’ll offer 8 hybrid choices to customers around the globe.”
