Announced last September, the production of the greenest Ford ever (with combustion engine) started in the Cologne plant.
An opportunity for Ford to recall its eco-performances equalling hybrid cars.
Equipped with the 1.6 liter Duratorq TDCi diesel engine which develops 95hp for 205Nm of torque, the Fiesta ECOnetic offers emissions of 87g/km (like the Lexus CT200h) for a combined consumption of just 3.3l/100km.
This version ECOnetic receives technologies such as Auto-Start-Stop, regenerative braking, the ECO driving mode and a shift indicator.
To further increase its frugality the gear ratios are optimized, its suspension is lowered and low rolling resistance tires end the green tech panel.
In 2012 half the models sold by Ford in Europe should receive the ECOnetic badge.
The Fiesta ECOnetic will be available in three and five doors.
