Electric VW Golf: a fleet of 15 prototypes of e-Golf tested in Paris! (blue-e-motion)

Two news on the future electric Golf, first it could be renamed from Golf Blue-e-motion (a bit long you will agree) to e-Golf (consistent with the e-Up...).

It features the same powertrain as the original prototype, a 115hp and 270Nm electric motor powered by a 26.5kWh lithium ion battery pack that offers 150km of range while the maximum speed stands at 135kph

Then, VW just announced that a fleet of 15 of these electric Golfs will be tested from this month in France (after tests launched in May 2011 in Germany) for a period of eight months and will be tested by private companies (JC Decaux, Sanofi / Aventis, Allianz) and public authorities.

An opportunity to test the vehicle in real conditions (we already had a test drive in preview at the 2010 La AutoShow) but also the services specially developed, including an iPhone application.

Its market launch is expected by 2014.
