Teased since the beginning of the year, we gave a very warm welcome to Pinifarina’s green comeback (the European Fisker Karma) when we discovered its specs and immediatly started dreaming about a production…

It seems like it could become true, Pininfarina announced through their CEO Silvio Angori that they are considering to build the car with a diesel range extender, the Cambiano would then be the first diesel hybrid sports GT!

In figures
-680hp (limited by the battery capacity)
-275kph max speed
-800km combined range for 200km in electric only
-0 to 100kph in 4.2 seconds
-Emissions of 45g/km
-Price between € 400.000 to €1.000.000

“The CEO said that if Pininfarina built 10 units, each Cambiano would cost about 1 million euros. If the production run were increased to 70 to 75, the per-unit price would fall to 400,000 euros,
It would take 24 to 30 months to start production of the Cambiano, which would probably have a diesel-powered internal combustion engine as a range extender rather than the diesel-fueled turbine in the concept.”

We let you enjoy the Cambiano during its world premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
