(VIDEO) Diesel plug-in hybrid SUV: VW Cross Coupe 1.8l/100km and 46 g/km!

Presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2011, Volkswagen reveals more details about their concept Cross Coupe including the diesel hybrid powertrain that will power the vehicle.

Better than the Prius PHEV this TDI engine combined with two electric motors allows a consumption of 1.8l/100km in the NEDC cycle with emissions announced at only 46g/km! That same combination offers 306hp and a maximum speed of 220kph for a total weight of 1.858kg!

The Cross Coupe will be revealed in European premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
