We initially expected it before year-end, then the Detroit show seemed to be an ideal location for the reveal... But Elon Musk, founder of Tesla announced this week
that the highly anticipated Model X -based on the same platform as their sedan, the Model S- will be revealed at an event on February 9th
, a date which corresponds to the beginning of the Chicago Auto Show but it's only coincidence as the event should take place at Tesla’s Design Studio in LA.
The first units of the Model X should be available in 2013 and Tesla expects volumes around 15,000 units by 2014.
Note that investors and insiders of the company already got the chance to see the Model X’s design, but no picture, rendering or teaser has been revealed for the moment...
