Dakar 2012: OscarEO the only hybrid vehicle catches up!

We won’t present the Oscar EO (after 3 previous articles), but let’s have a look to its performances in the 2012 Dakar. This range-extender hybrid 4x4, has been specially developed by a Latvian team (Osc) to take part in the 2012 Dakar rally that will cross Argentina, Chile and Peru.

The vehicle carrying the number 370 works well, as well as its gasoline equivalent (number 467).

We follow its steps since the beginning of the week and performances improve day by day.
The race started from Mar del Plata on Monday, towards Santa Rosa and San Rafael, the OscarEO ranked then 113th in the stage and 128th overall (125th for the petrol version).

From San Rafael competitors left for San Juan, Chilecito and Fiambala where the teams stopped for the night yesterday with much better performances. They were then at the 66th place of the stage and 98th at general ranking (97 for the petrol version), encouraging for the team, which could, if they continue like this end up in the first fifty or even better as the adventure ends on Sunday, January 15th!
