Grigio Carbonio, the MacLaren of foldable bicycles weighs only 6.5kg ! (Pedelec also available)

Our latest discovery on two wheels comes from Italy, this is the first carbon folding bike.

Developed by the company Grigio Carbonio, its frame is in carbon monocoque “high modulus”, for bikes starting at 6.5 kg only!

This company already got an award for their product at the 2011 Bicitech Innovation Award that took place as part of ExpoBici in Padua last September last .

Grigio Carbonio focuses on personalization and customization, three models are available, the city version, the race version and even an electrically assisted version (pedelec) weighting only 12kg! A record for an electric bike!

The idea is to provide a folding bike as good as racing ones.

100% Italian made, they receive 160mm disc brakes and 20” wheels also in carbon (MTB) for the city and race versions. A luxury product targeting golfers and the yachting world with its size of only 85x80x40cm and a folding time of 15 seconds...

In addition to the carbon parts, these bikes are featuring high quality materials with Titanium and Ergal elements.

The City version is full carbon –from the wheels to the saddle- it weighs 7kg and is available at € 6700
The Racing version manages to lose an additional 500grammes costs € 7200.

And finally the pedelec (electric bike), can feature three power levels: plain, hill and mountain. It is limited to 25kph and offers a range of 40km for a weight of only 12kg, it is offered at € 6500
