(VIDEO) 2012 will be a busy year for Kleenspeed (KAR and EV-X11)
Yesterday, Kleenspeed confirmed its ambitions as a manufacturer with the completion of the intial development of the KAR, their 2+2 compact electric vehicle. Meanwhile, they continue to test and develop their electric race car, the EV-X11.
The first step in the development of Kleenspeed’s KAR, ended this week with the completion of a real size prototype.
From this base, the lines will be refined and some details improved by the brand’s designer Brian Rhim -aiming to achieve a distinctive look that announces the brand’s identity.
Next year, a prototype equipped with the flexible EV platform KAR will be tested, before a launch planned in 2014. The prototype should be fitted with 40kWh of batteries, powering a 134hp and 300 Nm (221 lb ft) motor, for a real life autonomy between 120 to 140 miles (190 - 225km).
