On December 13th we announced the new record distance for an electric vehicle over 24h, with the Citroen AX from the CEA Liten setting the bar at 1280km
Mitsubishi, in partnership with mobile charging stations/generators Real Power (unofficially) blew this record.
Unofficially because they did not set the bar at 24 hours, but at 500miles on the legendary Indianapolis Speedway.
Two Mitsubishi i-MiEV
took off to demonstrate the possibility of successive short recharge without affecting the vehicle’s performances or damage the battery.
Driving phases at speeds between 50 and 60 mph (80-97 kph) were interspersed with 20minutes quick charge phases.
With 12hours more, they would have broke the record, despite bad weather conditions that did not help in maximizing performances of the car...
