2012 Lexus GS450h: 343hp for 137g of CO2 and 5.9l per 100km (40 mpg)!

After the reveal of the production vehicle in Frankfurt, Lexus just released the official specs of their new hybrid sedan… The 3.5l V6 gasoline engine combined with the electric motor emits only 137g/km instead of 179g/km for the previous version an improvement of 30% at equivalent power.

Lexus’s Hybrid Drive System second generation, combines uses an Atkinson cycle gasoline engine with a D-4S direct injection, both powering the rear wheels.

0 to 100kph takes only 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 250kph, while consumption goes down by 23% with only 5.9l/100km (40mpg) announced in combined cycle.

The Lexus GS450h ranks first among the hybrid sedans with power comparable (Panamera S Hybrid / Infiniti M35h) and offers an unbeatable power/emissions ratio of 2.5hp per gram of CO2...
