SEMA 2011: Isobutanol Mazda MX-5 Spyder

Recently presented the MX5 Spyder is a Roadster version of the famous Mazda convertible. The Spyder version receives a retractable soft top designed by HAARTZ Corporation.

Just revealed, the Spyder gets a tuned version for THE tuning show in the US, the SEMA Show.


The Isobutanol MX-5 Spyder is the sustainable interpretation of the Zoom-Zoom motto.

In this white "Stratosphere" livery with a "Granada" roof, the MX-5 adopts 17" Yokohama rims and, the 2.0l MZR engine uses isobutanol, easier to produce, distribute and store than the Ethanol.


Isobutanol has been tested by the brand on the ALMS (American Le Mans Series) for a year now, it allows to keep the characteristics of the 2.0l MZR engine (160hp and 188Nm) with a smaller footprint.
