(VIDEO) Peugeot 208 official reveal, details and engines
Following a pre-reveal yesterday morning, Peugeot has officially unveiled its new compact car (B segment).
Available in 3 or 5 doors the first deliveries of the 208 are expected for summer 2012.
With this new model Peugeot wants to re-create an icon like the 205 for a generation, a vehicle resolutely young and modern with flowing and dynamic lines.
The 208 range starts below 1000kg and has an average weight reduced by 110kg, the drag coefficient is low with 0.29, and despite a length shortened by 7cm the interior space, including the rear seats is improved (5 cm)
On the powertrain side, five diesel engines will be offered, almost all of them receive the mild-hybrid technology e-HDI allowing emissions starting at 87g/km only (like the Lexus CT200h, a full hybrid ...) and combined fuel consumption starting at 2.8l/100km
And two petrol three-cylinder 1l and 1.2l VTi for emissions starting at 99g/k and 3.6l/100km average consumption.
Finally 25% of the materials used in the car are said green (recycled or from natural origin)
