TTXGP 2011: World Final won by Muench Racing

19/10/2011
Once again this year, nothing could stop Mathias Himmelmann on Muench Racing.
After taking away the European session’s final at Le Mans three weeks ago, Himmelmann took this weekend the international final in front of the Zongshen and Arc EV bikes.

This event originally scheduled in Spain finally took place in Anglesey, during an English National Federation of Motorcycling event and with a wind turbine powered paddock.

Here there was no need to spare drivers and machines for the following races, and teams could give in at 100%. Thus the first two found themselves in the middle of 600cc bikes during qualifying round.

With 7 seconds ahead per lap on average and 40,162 seconds at the finish line, the Muench Racing team has times comparable to 600cc bikes.

After having faced technical problems at the beginning of the season, things turned out pretty good for Muench Racing which confirmed its desire to produce motorcycles in series, but without giving a specific release date.
“All the development that we do with these race bikes goes into our plan to make production bikes.”
Thomas Schuright, chief engineer.
